There is a significant difference between the idea of, “creation” and the idea of, “birth.” The monotheistic desert religious traditions have tended to focus on the idea of the Divine “creating” the universe as something separate, outside off Itself. Eastern spiritual traditions have focused more on the concept of the Divine “giving birth” to the universe with the implication that the universe is “of the same stuff” as the Divine. The human brain specializes in making things seem separate. This has been of some benefit, but has also caused untold misery and suffering. How would you live today if you were able to drop the illusion of separateness?
