Walking the Tao – Chapter 16

A quiet mind is a wonderful thing, but “trying” to be quiet is a noisy experience indeed. Fortunately there is an aspect of my consciousness that is always, of its own nature, quiet. Its natural quietness accepts even the noise of my ego consciousness with no need to “fix” it. It is this “still point” that is my essential self.
