Walking the Tao – Chapter 20

They say to, “think outside the box.” My favorite bumper sticker asks the question, “What if thinking IS the box?” So much of what we call human nature might not be as natural as we assume. Are we meant to strive and achieve great things? Or we meant to enjoy and naturally express our true essence? Is life meant to be driven by great and noble “purposes?” Or is it meant to be carried by the Tao as a wave carries us unfailingly to our home?

    1. You’re right, Sean. What a burden to carry from such a young age. “Reach your potential!” – an ever shifting unreachable illusion that sets us up to be driven all our lives. Instead: “Be happy, here, now.”
