Walking the Tao – Chapter 33

We are often advised to “know ourselves.” What does this really mean? Who is the one “knowing” and who is the one “being known?” Isn’t it really like asking the eye to see itself? Do we get there through therapy and analysis? Do we get there by meditation? Is there a consciousness that is deep enough to give a vantage point from which I can truly, “know myself?”
