Walking the Tao – Chapter 24

A healthy ego structure seems necessary to the human experience. But is such a structure meant to be the “end-all” of life? Are we to spend the decades of our existence reinforcing this structure? Are we to cling to the mental habits of which it is comprised? Or is something entirely new struggling to dissolve this structure and replace it with a freedom we can hardly imagine? What awaits us if we can release the mental habits that have formed this ego?
