Walking the Tao – Chapter 52

Lao-Tzu often refers to the Tao as the, “Mother of All,” who gave birth to all forms in the Cosmos. The implication that we are “birthed” rather than “created” implies a relationship of intimacy, nurture, and safety. Like a child at rest in its mother’s arms finds a refuge, so we always have a place of refuge available to us because we are never, ever, separate from the enfolding arms of our Mother.
